With the way this book ends I’m completely lost in Arin and Kestrels feelings for one another and what will happen in book two.

There were the little things about him that I liked in stolen moments with Kestrel. He’s a very deep character that I just want to get to know better. I really, really like him and understood why he did what he had to do. I was rooting for Arin from the beginning. I’m eager to see how much she grows as a character. I think she’s starting to see Arin’s side of things and understand him and why things had to happen. I liked Kestrel in how she was a bit different from societies norms but she still had a lot of learning to do. Where some things were predictable, there was a lot that caught me by surprise.

It is a slower paced book with some action but I feel like it’s leading up to something really big that will either happen in the second or third book. I loved it and it was not at all what I was expecting.
